Jazzstock!

April is Jazz Appreciation Month and JAZZSTOCK is presenting an exciting event!! This event is free and open to the public! JAZZSTOCK presents an event at SUNY New Paltz to celebrate the second annual International Jazz Day. The main event this year is in Istanbul, but there will be celebrations all over the world. Activities at SUNY include a roundtable discussion on the business of jazz with the Jazz Faculty, an exciting talk by acclaimed author and journalist MARC MYERS, followed by performances by the New Paltz Jazz Faculty Band + Jazz Students.  MARC MYERS: In 2007, Marc Myers, our guest speaker for this exciting event, started www.JazzWax.com, a top-ranked daily jazz blog specializing in jazz-legend interviews and recordings. In 2012 it was awarded Blog of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association.
