Matt Munisteri is a freewheeling American jazz guitarist, and a singer and songwriter, whose musical explorations frequently resurrect overlooked tunes and transform them into gems, liberated from era or idiom. His performances mix humor, heart and smarts, with instrumental virtuosity and innovation - think Mose Allison meets Randy Newman, Nick Lucas meets Bill Frisell. He’ll be joined with a long-time collaborator, the versatile and creative bassist Danton Boller, who spent several years with the late Roy Hargrove.
